What a brilliant busy week it has been. Mrs Brown and Miss Bottrell had a fantastic day in Sheffield on Wednesday learning all the songs and actions for our Young Voices concert in January. All the places are now full and children will be learning the songs during singing assembly - if your child has come home singing in Swahili the song Kusimama you now know why! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZdUwI4SRmY

Next Tuesday we are very excited about our first Ethiopian Day where the children can come in the colours of the Ethiopian flag  (green, yellow, blue or red) and bring in £1. We are raising money to help them purchase a donkey library! The children will be doing a range of different activities from all aspects of the curriculum themed around this. We will also be presenting their work on Thursday morning in the hall from 9.15am which we hope you can join us for.

The boys football team played their second match of the season this week sadly losing to Langar 5-0 however they discovered a secret weapon of needing someone with a long throw in. Mr Tyler spoke of how the boys didn't give up and continued to play with determination to the end. Well done boys.

    On to our brilliant book...

Infant 1- Niamh- for telling the class (and the whole school in assembly!) all about the fruit she knows in spanish! Amazing work.

Rupert- for his fantastic clay hedgehog he spent a lot of time adding more and more spines. He was very careful and precise using his brilliant pinchy fingers.

Infant 2- Lillie-Mae - for excellent work in English identifying nouns and verbs. Lillie-Mae really impressed us this week with her energy and enthusiasm. Willing to try and have a go even if she wasn't sure.

Freddie- for great independent work in maths when identifying shape names and properties. He even had a brilliant attempt at saying quadrilateral!

Writer of the week- Lyla Mullins for her fantastic writing based upon Olivers Vegetables.

Junior 1- George- for always being polite and having a willingness to learn. He has really shown what he can do this week and taken such pride in his work.

Max- for becoming a gigger by achieving a rock speed of 7.06 seconds per question on TT Rockstars. He got a special certificate and is the first person in the school to have achieved it! Well done for your hard work.

Junior 2- Kai- for excellent work in his maths using stem sentences to help with his place value. Both Mr Tyler and Mrs Dewick have been incredibly impressed.

Oliver S and Jack- for great maths work this week using decimals. They worked accurately and consistently to show what they had learnt.

Melissa- continuing the maths theme has done some fantastic work on rounding decimals to the nearest tenth and whole number. Keep it up!
