What a fantastic week. Year 6 had a brilliant time at Southwell Minster on Monday, both Infant classes had a super seaside day on Tuesday and our Beauty and the Beast production was on Thursday! All of that is then topped of with our year 2 and 3 sleepover tonight!

    On to our brilliant book..

Infant 1- Frankie and Seb for some fantastic 'rock friends' this morning. They added lots of detail and used their imagination to describe what their rock friend might do

Infant 2- Cameron & Toby- for showing true friendship and consideration to Dax on his early years visit and playing with him so nicely.
Ella S and Heidi- for a beuatiful letter and card of thanks for the sea side day. Miss Bottrell was very touched by them both so thank you!

Junior 1- Evie B and Amber- for excellend work at swimming during water safety, they both listened well and followed the process accurately and enthusiastically.

Leon- for settling in so well and being a great friend. Mrs Nolan is looking forward to helping him learn and work hard next year. You've fitted in so well to the class already.

Kai- for professional, methodical approach to serving at dinner time. What a star! Keep it up!

Junior 2- Harriett- for excellent work this morning completing a very complicated scorecard for their cricket match. New Zeland vs Australia. Well done to New Zeland team!

More photos from the sleepover will no doubt follow on Monday when the teachers have recovered! Have a lovely weekend and we will see you for the final 3 days next week!

We had a fantastic week and it has been brilliant to see the production come to life this week, you are in for a real treat next Thursday! We also had the Junior Masterchef final on Tuesday- big well done again to Erica for winning but also to all who took part!

Thank you also to all parents who joined us Thursday evening for the FOGS Disco and leaving BBQ it was a fantastic event and we were very lucky the rain stayed away for the main event. A huge thank you to all those parents who organised and ran such a superb event.

    On to our brilliant book..

Infant 1- Alex- for spotting a toddler in the outdoor classroom during the Disco and very gently going to get them out. She showed the values of friendship, respect and service.
Rhys- for making some brilliant fish this morning for his sea picture, Rhys cut his shapes out carefully and really thought about the shapes he needed.

Infant 2- Ella S- for going the extra mile at home and producing a canvas beach scene for our topic.
Jacob - for creating a lego landscape using lots of geographic features of a costal town.

Heidi- for speaking out and being confident to do the right thing and respecting the rules of school.

Junior 1- Ali- Mrs Shaw nominated Ali for his fantastic technique swimming. Beautiful straight arms when doing backstroke and for really listening in order to improve.

Summer- for her quick learning of her lines for the production. Thank you Summer and well done!

Junior 2- All of year 6 for their brilliant SATS results. We are incredibly proud of all of you!

  • Masterchef Final

    Fri 12 Jul 2019

On Tuesday our final 5 contestants went to Tom Browns for our Junior Masterchef competition.

They had a fantastic time and had 2 challenges to complete. The first was to create a plate of perfectly scrambled eggs. They were presented with eggs, cream, milk, butter and salt and given no further instructions! They all did a splendid job and it was very close to judge.

The second challenge was plating up a desert that Tom Browns recently served at an Alice in Wonderland event. They were each provided with a piece of strawberry cheesecake and had to plate it up after watching the head chef demonstrate.  All 5 of their desserts looked, and tasted, delicious!

It was a very close final but the winner was Erica! A huge well done, to Oliver, Jaby, Hannah and Orla who all did incredibly well and should be very proud of themselves.

We have had a fantastic week with Sports Day on Tuesday and Junior 2 taking part in a play in a day all about Reduce, Reuse and Recycle- do watch the video on Junior 2 class page to see how brilliant they all were!

    On to our brilliant book..

Infant 1- Alex and Jake for their fantastic observtional drawings of leaves. They looked really carefully and took their time including lots of detail

Infant 2- All of year 1 were nominated for being so well behaved and sensible at swimming especially this week. They beat all the juniors getting changed and were a pleasure to take.

Ella J- For her fantastic use of sentence stems to explain her thinking in maths.

Junior 1- For all year 4s who went to Walesby for representing our school so well. So many of them recieved their values certificate today because they showed how well these were engrained and lived out when they were away. It was fantastic to hear about all the fun things they got up to- especially the water fight!

Junior 2- Mr Tyler wanted to put all the class in the book for 2 fantastic reasons. Firstly for all their help running sports day, it would not have been so smooth without their service. Ensuring others were able to have a go at all the sports rather than taking part themselves the whole time.  Secondly for their fantastic performance in the play in a day.  They all demonstrated great determination to learn all their lines and directions!
