Infant Nativity Play

Well done to our infants whose performance of The Sleepy Shepherd this evening was brilliant. All the children really enjoyed themselves and sung out enthusiastically.

To mark the start of Advent all the children made a Christingle in school today. The infant children then began our collective worship this afternoon by explaining the meaning behind each part of the Christingle and the some junior children lit theirs as part of our school welcome to worship.

Retreat afternoon

Three members of our Worship and Wellbeing group attended a retreat day with other schools from the Aspire trust. We had a lovely afternoon getting to know each other, thinking about getting ready for Christmas and the Christmas story.

Children in Need

Well done to all those who supported our fundraising today by either entering our colouring competition or buying some Pudsey ears. The children also created some fantastic Pudsey chalk drawings to mark the day.

Anti-bullying Week

Today we marked the beginning of anti-bullying week by wearing odd socks to school. This reminded us that it is ok to be different and that we should celebrate the fact that we are all unique. In collective worship we talked about what being a good friend looks like and that if we see bullying or are being bullied we should make some noise about it and tell someone.

Remembrance Day- Gunthorpe Remembers

This week each class has been busy making a wreath of poppies for Remembrance Day. Today we held a minute silence remembering all those who have died in conflict. All the children were so respectful and reflective it was a truly special moment.
