Lenten worship at St John's
Thu 14 Mar 2024Today the whole school walked to St John's church where Rev Anna led our collective worship - thinking about Lent and the events of Holy Week.

Aspire Science Day
Tue 12 Mar 2024Our whole school enjoyed taking part in the Aspire Science Challenge, making the highest tower possible using spaghetti and marshmallows!

Junior MasterChef
Fri 08 Mar 2024Today our junior children took part in the first round of our MasterChef competition by design and creating their own pizza. Marks from this round will be carried forward to a cake/bake round which will also be sold as a fun raiser for Comic Relief. Watch this space!

World book Day
Thu 07 Mar 2024Another fantastic World Book Day in school. All the children and staff dressed up as their favourite book characters and enjoyed our whole school book quiz.
A big thank you to Open Doors creative Arts and Milly who came in to work across all the classes. Creating a storybook choir with our infants and running a book cover design competition with our juniors. Winners to be announced shortly -watch this space!!

Tree planting at Gunthorpe Nature Rreserve
Tue 05 Mar 2024Today the whole school walked to our new, local nature reserve to plant trees and bulbs. All the children enjoyed getting their hands dirty and it is incredible to think and be part of something that they will see grow and develop throughout their lifetimes.

Aspire MAT worship leaders retreat afternoon.
Thu 29 Feb 2024Some of our worship and wellbeing group travelled to St Andrew's church Langar to join with other schools from our trust for an afternoon of worship and prayer. They all had a wonderful time getting to know the other children and working with them on some fun getting to know you tasks.

Y5/6 Indoor Rowing Festival at South Wolds Academy
Wed 28 Feb 2024Some of our Y5/6 pupils took part in an indoor rowing festival. The children were using a rowing machine to burn calories as quickly as possible, to row as far as they could in a certain amount of time, and to row a given distance as quickly as possible. The children all had a great time, and demonstrated great determination and teamwork.

Young Voices 2024
Wed 21 Feb 2024A group of 24 of our junior children travelled to Sheffield today to take part in Young Voices, where they got the opportunity to sing and dance with over 4,000 other children. It was was a wonderful experience which all the children thoroughly enjoyed - lifelong memories were certainly made and all our children behaved impeccably,

Book Fair
Fri 02 Feb 2024A big thank you to all who supported our book fair - there was a real buzz in the hall and the school will get a percentage of the sales back in books which will really help to boost our resources. Thank you too to FOGS who organised the whole event including costume sale, second hand book sale, tombola and refreshments.

Egyptian Day Performance
Thu 01 Feb 2024A big thank you to Milly from Open doors who came in to school to work with our Junior 1 children. They created a fantastic Ancient Egyptian play with props and costumes which the whole school enjoyed watching - all accomplished in only two days, amazing!
