Marvellous Monday 15th March

What a fantastic first week back we had! All the children have returned to school and settled so well.  A big thank you to all parents who were supporting children with their home learning- it has made such a difference and teachers have been able to continue the topics that they were teaching!

A big well done to Ava (Infants) and to Jiamin (Juniors) for winning the £5 amazon vouchers for world book day potatoes.  There was some really tough competition- all the entries can be found on the world book day page here:  https://www.gunthorpeschool.co.uk/world-book-day/

A big well done to Niamh, Florence and Henry for their values slips- 4 more pebbles in our jar. We are already planning what our whole school treat could be when we fill one up!

On to our brilliant book:

Infant 1- Rupert -for your fantastic butterfly observational drawing.  You looked really carefully and included so much detail.

Cole- you were so determined to get back into the routine of school even though it was tricky to remember so much! Mrs Findlay was so proud of you!

Infant 2- Anders- for such a massive improvement in your red word spelling test over the time of school closure all that hard work really paid off!

Pheobe- we can really tell you were listening to Miss Bottrell's videos during maths as you came back and showed us how much you had learnt.  We are all very proud of you!

Frances- you have settled so well into school and we are so impressed by how mature and confident you are.  It is like you have always been a part of Infant 2!

Junior 1- Laci-Mai for working so hard on your writing especially your speech punctuation.

Liberty- for fantastic use of adverbs and conjunctions in your writing.

George- for your complex sentences including fronted adverbials.

Junior 2- Pollyanna and Melissa - fantastic maths multiplying franctions by whole numbers

Oliver-and Krishan- fantastic maths reflecting shapes on a coordinates grid
