Head Teachers Blog w/c 6th January

What a fantastic first week back for the term. We welcome several new families to our school and we know their children have settled beautifully so well done (they are all in the brilliant book!). We also say a sad good bye today to Kelsie-Mae and Gracie who are leaving and will be missed. Good luck at your next school.

We invited all the year 6 parents to join us for our fantastic Friday assembly and presented the children with their leavers hoodies. They can wear them in school from Monday and they know that the whole school will be looking up to them to set the example for how amazing Gunthorpe children can be!

On to our brilliant book...

Infant 1- Rupert and Pheobe- for their fantastic stick men. They both put a lot of thought into what they were doing and took a lot of care with their work (photos to follow!)
Claudie- For brilliant sentence writing today. Claundie wrote all by herself- even having a go at writing corn flakes!

Cole- For a brilliant start to school. He only joined yesterday and he has joined in with everything. Well done!

Infant 2- Rhys and Seb- for excellent work reading contractions (eg. I've and we'll) and matching words.
Cara- for settling in so well and being a great friend. You have shown such enthusiasm for everything you have done!
Georgie- for her fantastic RE Epiphany work- she thought carefully about the gifts within her and reflected on our school values beautfully.

Junior 1- Callum and Oliver- for a great first week! Lots of hard work, good listening and learning what we do. You've made friends well and joined in with many things.

Frances- for your excellent knowledge of "Can you catch a mermain?" In addition you are now a rock star on TT rockstars becuase of your work over last half term!

Junior 2- Kelsie- for really good English work this week on modal verbs and punctuating speech.

Oliver B- for writing a good summary of a chapter from Carries War.
