Head Teacher Blog w/c 4th November

I hope you all enjoyed the 2 week half term, it was lovely to welcome the children back looking so enthusiastic and ready for a jam packed Autumn 2 term. This term is always one of my favourites in the lead up to Christmas but it is also particuarly busy!

This week has been Anti-bullying week and all the classes have been looking particuarly at how to keep themselves safe online. I will be providing more details in the newsletter but leaflets will be avaliable during parents evening next week regarding how you can support children at home. All classes have also made a wreath this week in preperation for Monday when we will hold a minute silence at 11am for Remembrance Day.

2 children who deserve a special mention in the blog this week are Harriet and Lyla P.

Harriet didn't let us know that over the summer she won Lowdham librarys summer reading challenge with a fantastic goodie bag of prizes. Well done Harriet!

Lyla spent her half term making excellent use of her artistic abilities to paint some beautiful pictures that she then sold to raise funds for our Link Ethiopia Charity. She made an incredible £44! We are so impressed with her act of service.

On to our brilliant book...

Infant 1- Super Sentence Writer- Niamh for working so hard to hear and write a lot of her sounds totally independently!
Rupert- for really thinking carefully in maths  this week. He has been listening and concentrating which has shown in his answers. He was able to say which goup had more or fewer or the same! Super maths work Rupert!

Eleanor- for the incredible progress she is making in her blending and spelling of words. Her writing is so clear now and she is trying so hard!

Infant 2- Seb for lot of careful writing all week checking he is using his correct sounds.

Ella S and Freddie- For brilliant maths this week showing the various ways of partitioning 2 digit numbers using concrete, pictorial and moving onto abstract methods. Their recall was superb and very fluent. Well done!
Writer of the week: Seth for his superb letter including full stops throughout and even making use of retorical questions in his writing!

Junior 1- Megan for sharing excellent maths knowledge with the class during lessons, as well as building up her resilience by trying her best and not being afraid to make mistakes!

Junior 2- Connie and Florrie- for their fantastic sequels to the book "The Hurricaine" before half term. Well done girls for looking carefully at what you had to include but also making your writing so enjoyable to read.
