Head Teacher Blog w/c 23rd Sept

This week has been particularly exciting for Junior 1 who went on a residential to Walesby with Langar Primary School. We try and work closely with Langar as they also feed into Toot Hill enabling the children to develop friendships that will last into secondary school.  All the children have had a fantastic time doing a wide range of activities and have all tried something new. It was my absolute pleasure to join them today and see them in action there are some brilliant photos on twitter so I would advise you to have a look and see what they got up to: https://twitter.com/gunthorpecofeps

A special well done to Summer from Junior 2 who ran in the the Equinox 24h race over the weekend. She did incredibly well and raised money for the Hartley Joe Charity. I have challenged the staff to get involved next year and see if we can put together a team! https://www.equinox24.co.uk/

On to our brilliant book...

Infant 1- Pheobe and Niamh- for some fantastic observational drawings of fruit and vegetables. Pheobe drew a fntastic pepper and Niamh a mushroom. Both girls looked really carefully at the vegetables and included lots of detail. They really are beautiful- have a look at the photo below!

Infant 2- Seth, Lyla, Jessie, Ella S- for their hard work and attention to detail when creating their this is me work as part of the topic. They made fantastic creative choices.

Lissie- for her interest and knowledge in the world around her over the last 2 lessons. She has brilliant geographical knowledge and is such a super star!

Writer of the week: Georgie- for great detail and description when explaining why beetroot is her favourite vegetable.  She was really going the extra mile when editing and improving to ensure neatness and accuracy. Well done- you can read it in the photo below.

Junior  2- Riley - for good maths work using frog number lines to calculate subtraction number sentences.

Rosie and Chloe- for writing an excellent alternative verse to the poem The Highwayman- see photo
