I am very pleased to be able to welcome you to our website. Gunthorpe CofE Primary School is a small village school (with lots of personality!) that prides itself on academic excellence. Staff, children and their families, work together to build a close whole school community that is based on strong Christian values of Service, Determination, Friendship, Forgiveness and Respect.

Welcome from the Chair of Governors

Welcome to Gunthorpe C of E Primary School.

Our Governing Board is committed to ensuring that every child in our school receives the very best education and has the opportunity to flourish. We work closely with the school to set its strategic direction, monitor progress and standards, and ensure that all decisions place children’s learning, safety and wellbeing at the centre. We also take responsibility for overseeing the school’s financial planning and ensuring the curriculum remains broad, balanced and enriching to help all our pupils shine.

The Board is made up of volunteers from across our community, including parents, staff and individuals with specialist expertise. Together, we provide support and constructive challenge to the Headteacher and leadership team, helping the school continue to grow and succeed.

As Chair of Governors, I am proud to work alongside my fellow Governors, Mrs Brown, and our dedicated staff. Gunthorpe is a warm and vibrant school where our values of service, determination, friendship, forgiveness and respect are lived out every day. It is a privilege to play a part in such a special community.
