This week we had the absolutely fantastic Infant Nativity ‘Don’t forget the Donkey’ and I don’t think anyone will! It was a huge success and enjoyed by everyone who came. Thank you so much to those parents who supported us so well and of course the brilliant children who were absolutely perfect!
Year 6 also came to St Mary’s church Lowdham to decorate our school’s Christmas tree for their festival this weekend 12-4pm with a short carol service on Sunday at 4. We hope you can visit and see Gunthorpe’s 12 joys of Christmas!
On to our Brilliant book…
Infant 1- Seb- for always choosing to do the right thing. Seb always volunteers to help and tidy up- showing the values of service and respect. Well done!
Jake- for some fantastic nativity writing this week. Jake thought of his sentence and had a go at writing it independently. He wrote lots of the sounds correctly. Keep it up!
Infant 2- Jack- for being a super narrator during the nativity and using a great story telling voice
Freddie- for recognising mistakes in maths and using resources around him to make corrections independently
We also had 2 writers of the week
Jessie and Seth look at their brilliant letters to Santa:
Junior 1- Krishan- for going the extra mile this week. At lunchtime he has taken responsibility for tidying the table, putting chairs away in the dinner hall and taken on responsibility in the classsroom without being asked. You are so thoughtful of others. Thank you
Freya- for writing incredible complex sentences including subordinate conjunctions. You also thought about using a range of sentence types for effect and building up the suspense. Well done!
Junior 2- Harriet- for showing really good reasoning and problem solving, multiplying 2 digit numbers together and for keeping going even though you weren’t very confident. What a superb mathematician!
