Food Labelling Nutrition Workshop
Thursday 7th November
Junior 2 took part in a ‘Food Labelling Nutrition Workshop’.
A member of the Newark and Sherwood Community Nutrition team came and deliverd the workshop. This involved the children analysing food labels of familiar foods, looking at the content of fats, sugar and salt, to decide if the quantities were Low, Medium or High. It was a very eye opening session for everyone involved, for example, drinking one can of coke every day for one week is the equivalent to eating 49 teaspoons of sugar!
The children demonstrated a very good understanding of what makes a healthy diet and this session will only have enhanced their understanding even further.
