Indoor Rowing Festival – Sainsburys School Games

Tuesday 12th December 2017

We took a boys’ team and a girls’ team to South Wolds School in Keyworth to take part in an indoor rowing festival.  Each team had one rowing machine and they completed different relay races including a calorie burn race, distance races and timed races.  The children’s rowing improved over the evening as did their teamwork and co-operation, having to get on and off the rowing machine at speed for the relay changes.

Indoor Lacrosse Tournament

Wednesday 6th December 2017

Our lacrosse team took part in their first tournament of the year.

Following a 6 week block of lacrosse coaching in PE, as well as an after school club too, our team took part in an indoor tournament at Bingham Leisure Centre.  The team played 4 games winning 3 and losing 1 – a very encouraging start to the year in lacrosse.

Parliament at Christmas Competition

Friday 1st December 2017

Every child in school designed a Christmas card for the Parliament at Christmas competition.  We had some really good designs and our staff selected a small group of children’s designs to send through to be judged.  We are very proud that one of our Year 5 children was selected as the overall winner of the competition, a fantastic achievement!  His design is being sent out by Newark MP Robert Jenrick to wish a merry Christmas to his 40,000 constituents.  Robert Jenrick came in to school to meet our finalists and the winner.

Blitz and Pieces
